Referrals - Complex and surgical extractions

We are pleased to inform you that Dental Academy Bangor is now able to accept referrals for complex and surgical extractions.

 

At Dental Acadeny Bangor, we are aware of the long waiting times for MOS currently being faced by patients and are hoping to offer help to reduce this. We currently have two associates Dr Emily Luck and Dr Andrea Summers completing a MSc in Oral Surgery who are providing a specific MOS clinic once per week under supervision of our local consultant Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons.

 

The service is available for difficult extractions, surgical extractions and removal of impacted wisdom teeth with low ID nerve risk. We will be assessing patients before their treatment so if you are unsure of their suitability then please refer and we will be able to make a decision.

 

We currently only have provision for treatment under local anaesthetic so please be aware no sedation is available at the moment.

 

The service is also only available for patients with ASA grade 1,2 and 3 due to our primary care setting. We would be happy to receive referrals with the form given sent via post. For more referral forms please see our website. Patients would initially be seen for an assessment appointment, with their treatment to be planned and booked at that appointment. We are happy to accept referrals via NHS or privately. If you have any questions regarding referrals then please don’t hesitate to ask.
